Cheyenne Man Charged With Blackmail
A 59-year-old Cheyenne man has been charged with blackmail after allegedly trying to get a female to sleep with him and threatening her by hitting her bedroom doors with a mallet.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a domestic disturbance at 1609 Linden Ct. shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

Police say Philip Edward Morgans was in the backyard holding a rubber mallet when they showed up.
Morgans then reportedly entered the home and was ordered to drop the mallet, which he did.
He was then reportedly given multiple orders to get onto the ground and onto his stomach, which he eventually complied with, handcuffed, and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.
Police say the caller told them that Morgans had been hitting the two doors to her bedroom, which she had locked herself into due to Morgans' behavior.
She said Morgans was yelling that she had to leave the home or sleep with him.
Police say Morgans told them he intended to threaten her by hitting her door with a mallet.
Bond Set at $5K at 10% for Cheyenne Man Charged With Blackmail
Morgans was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with blackmail - threatens bodily injury or injury to the property of another person, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and interference with a peace officer - no injury, a misdemeanor.
He made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday morning, June 24, during which his bond was set at $5,000 at 10% and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 8 at 10:30 a.m.
