Wanted Cheyenne Man Caught Driving Drunk With Child in His Car
A wanted 29-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after police reportedly caught him driving drunk with a child in his car.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a home in the 2900 block of East 8th Street at 2:31 p.m. on Monday, April 7, after it was reported that Jonathan Michael Gildea was at the home, violating a protection order, and possibly had a warrant.

Police say the caller said Gildea arrived in a gray Kia, and as they arrived, they saw a gray Kia in the driveway leave the home northbound in an alley.
Police say they pulled behind the Kia in the 1000 block of Platte Avenue and activated their emergency overhead lights, and the driver, Gildea, finally stopped in the 1200 block of Platte Avenue.
A Strong Odor of Alcohol
Police say when they approached Gildea's door, they immediately smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the open window, and there was a 2-year-old boy in the back seat.
Gildea was ran through standardized field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested and charged with DUI with a child passenger, a misdemeanor.
Warrant for Felony Property Destruction
Police say he also had a Laramie County warrant for felony property destruction, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Circuit Court Judge Sean C. Chambers signed the warrant on Jan. 29, 2025.
Total Bond Set at $2K Cash
On Tuesday, April 8, Gildea was seen in Circuit Court on the charges.
His total bond was set at $2,000 cash — $1,000 cash in each case — and his arraignment and preliminary hearing were scheduled for Thursday, April 17, at 3 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
