Cheyenne Man Arrested on 4 Warrants Following Theft Investigation
A wanted Cheyenne man who police say stole more than a thousand dollars worth of glasses from an eye clinic before punching an employee in the face and driving away is now behind bars.
Timeline of Events
Police spokeswoman Alex Farkas says it all started around noon on Feb. 24, after a man, later identified as 32-year-old Charles Lynn Anaya, walked into the Cheyenne Vision Clinic at 1854 Dell Range Blvd., took multiple pairs of glasses from the display cases, and left without paying.
"A female employee followed Anaya to the parking lot and confronted him as he entered his vehicle," said Farkas.
"She was able to retrieve the glasses but was punched in the face multiple times by Anaya," Farkas added. "The vehicle then left the location."
Farkas says officers completed an affidavit of probable cause and a warrant was issued for Anaya’s arrest.
On Thursday, March 7, police spotted a man matching Anaya’s description walking in the area of East 15th Street and Hot Springs Avenue.
When police asked the man his name, he reportedly falsely identified himself as Charles Jolley.
