Cheyenne Man Charged With Robbery
A 34-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly committing robbery.
According to a booking sheet, Amos Juan "A.J." Mora Jr. was arrested at 1:27 a.m. Tuesday after police conducting a field interview at the Walmart at 2032 Dell Range Blvd. contacted him in the front passenger seat of a car.
Police say there was an open container on the passenger floorboard, and when they searched the car, they found a suspected glass meth pipe with residue in the center console.
When police ran Mora's name, they discovered he had a warrant out of Cheyenne Municipal Court for failure to appear on an original charge of shoplifting over $300. Judge David Singleton signed the warrant on July 31, 2024.
Police say Mora also had a completed probable cause affidavit for robbery, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Mora was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he reportedly swallowed an unknown object in the booking area, and was then taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for jail clearance.
He was booked without further incident on his city warrant and the robbery charge and was issued a city summons for possession of a controlled substance and two unserved city summonses for shoplifting and trespassing.
Bond Set at $5K Cash
Mora was seen on the robbery charge Wednesday morning in Laramie County Circuit Court, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Thursday, Sept. 5 at 1:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
