A 51-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony drug possession charge after reportedly being picked up on a warrant for burglary and found to have drugs on him.

Traffic Stop Leads to Wanted Man's Arrest, Felony Drug Charge

According to a booking sheet, Jason Brent Stricker was arrested at 10:51 p.m. on Friday, April 11, after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy stopped the vehicle he was riding in at East Allison Road and South Greeley Highway.

The deputy says Stricker had an active warrant out of Albany County for burglary, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Stricker was handcuffed and searched and reportedly had blue pills and drug paraphernalia on him.

Stricker was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident and upon review of his criminal history, was found to have two prior convictions for drug possession.

Stricker was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.

Bond Set at $3K Cash

On Tuesday, April 15, Stricker was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court on the drug charge.

His bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at 2:30 p.m.
