
Duo Arrested in Cheyenne Following Weekslong Investigation
A man and woman are facing felony charges following a weekslong investigation.
Weekslong Investigation Leads to Arrests, Felony Charges
According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's detective was conducting surveillance on a residence in the 400 block of East 23rd Street at 10:51 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, when he saw 31-year-old Fort Collins, Colorado, resident Melinda K. Hurt walk into the residence.
The detective says Hurt had been under investigation for identity theft and exploitation of a vulnerable adult since Jan. 10.

Hurt and her co-conspirator, 44-year-old Cheyenne resident Ezekiel Timothy Hernandez, were taken into custody at the residence and subsequently booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.
Hurt was charged with two counts of felony theft, misdemeanor theft, and interference with a peace officer - no injury, and Hernandez with aiding and abetting a felony.
Bonds Set at $10K Cash, $3K Cash
The two made their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Feb. 28.
Hurt's bond was set at $10,000 cash and Hernandez's at $3,000 cash, and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Friday, March 7, at 10:30 a.m.
