The deputy says Esquibel performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of drug impairment.

A baggie containing 6.2 grams of cocaine was reportedly found at the rear of the truck where Esquibel was contacted.

Both were charged with felony possession of cocaine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both.

Esquibel was also charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving under suspension - second offense, both misdemeanors.
