A wanted 28-year-old Cheyenne man is facing another felony charge after allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy was called to the Rodeway Inn at 12500 Interstate 80 Service Road at 7:23 a.m. on July 17, 2024, after a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was stolen from the parking lot.

He says two individuals got out of the van and walked toward the motorcycle, and the ratchet straps were cut and the motorcycle was stolen.

On July 19, 2024, the deputy was driving in the 700 block of Broken Wheel Court when he spotted the van.

The deputy asked a neighbor if they'd seen a motorcycle recently, and the neighbor pointed to a camper trailer at 709 Broken Wheel Ct.

When the deputy went to the address, he discovered the stolen motorcycle next to the trailer and attempted to contact the occupants inside, but didn't get an answer.

The deputy says Devan Aleczander Stanford's mother then arrived and they were able to compel him to come out.

Stanford was handcuffed and Mirandized and reportedly eventually admitted to having the key in the trailer, which was discovered after a search warrant was granted.

Stanford also reportedly had two Laramie County warrants, one out of District Court for failure to appear and one out of Circuit Court for misdemeanor theft.

He was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on a single count of felony theft and his warrants.

He was seen on the felony theft charge and his Circuit Court warrant Monday morning, during which his total bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing and arraignment were scheduled for July 31, 2024, at 2 p.m.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
