Cheyenne Cop Nabs Idaho Fugitive Wanted on Drug, Escape Charges

A wanted Idaho Falls, Idaho woman is behind bars following a traffic stop in Cheyenne.

According to a booking sheet, 25-year-old Alyssa Cade Hernandez was arrested at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, after a police officer stopped the Jeep she was riding in at Bent Avenue and West 18th Street for a faulty license plate light.

The officer says a check of Hernandez's name showed she had multiple warrants out of Bonneville County, Idaho for charges of possession of a controlled substance and escape.

Hernandez was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and waived extradition, meaning she's agreed to be transported back to Idaho without putting up a legal fight.

A status hearing is scheduled for Jan. 10.
