A 51-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after reportedly getting into a fight with his neighbor and seriously injuring him.

According to a booking sheet, police were called to Tad Edward Casey's home at 508 E. 2nd Street at about 1:23 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, for a supplemental report for a prior disturbance.

Police say Casey, the suspect in the disturbance, told them that he was drinking with his neighbor on Friday, Jan. 12.

The two reportedly got into a physical altercation in the area of W. 5th Street and Central Avenue, near the Family Dollar, and Casey's neighbor was seriously injured.

Police say Casey told them that he didn't have any injuries from the altercation.

Casey also reportedly admitted to kicking his neighbor while he was on the ground, before leaving the area and walking back to his house.

Casey was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for aggravated assault with injury, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Casey is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10:15 a.m.

JAN. 17 UPDATE:

Casey made his initial appearance in Circuit Court on Wednesday morning, Jan. 17, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 2:30 p.m.
