Cracked Windshield Leads Cheyenne Police to Meth, Fentanyl

Two people are facing felony drug charges following a high-speed chase through Cheyenne.

Police say it all started around 10:30 Monday morning, Oct. 9, when they tried to stop 40-year-old transient Sandra Joylyn Munoz, who was driving eastbound on West College Drive near Southwest Drive, for having a cracked windshield.

Police say Munoz failed to pull over and continued at a high rate of speed, before crashing in the 300 block of South Arp Avenue.

Officer Lisa Koeppel deployed her K-9 partner, Tyler, and she alerted on the car.

A probable cause search of the car was completed and 58.37 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and 34 grams of suspected fentanyl pills were found in a backpack in the trunk.

Munoz and her passenger, 33-year-old Denver, Colorado resident Jordan Anthony Trujillo, were arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance.

Munoz was also charged with fleeing and eluding and reckless driving.

The two made their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Oct. 11, during which their bonds were set at $5,000 cash.

Trujillo's preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m., and Munoz's for Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
