$250K Cash Bond Set for Cheyenne Man Charged With Sexual Assault

According to a booking sheet, police arrested John Estrada at his apartment in the 4100 block of East Pershing Boulevard at 8:16 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8.

Estrada was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with first-degree sexual assault - force, a felony punishable by imprisonment for not less than five years nor more than 50 years.
Initial Court Appearance
On Thursday, Sept. 11, Estrada was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charge.
Forwood appointed Estrada a public defender then turned to the state regarding bond.
"Mr. Estrada has a history of prior assaultive behavior from 2018, 2013, and 2024. He's currently on two concurrent felony probations, one for forgery, one for strangulation of a household member," the state said. "That certainly gives the state concern for the safety of the community."
Bond Set at $250K Cash
"I'm going to set your bond at $250,000 cash," Forwood told Estrada.
Estrada's next court date will be a preliminary hearing on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2:30 p.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
