Cheyenne Police Vs. Fire Rescue: Blood Drive Showdown For A Cause
The Cheyenne Police Department and Cheyenne Fire Rescue will compete to see who can inspire more blood donations during the ''Guns and Hoses" Blood Drive on September 23 at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center.
According to a release from CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas, blood donors will be able to cast a vote for the first responder team of their choice. The organization that gets the most votes gets possession of a traveling trophy for the next year.
The release quotes Police Chief Mark Francisco and Fire Chief John Kopper:
“This friendly competition has become a Cheyenne tradition that makes a significant impact,” said Police Chief Mark Francisco. “The recipients of these blood donations are the true winners, and we could not be more pleased to give back to our community.”
“Our community benefits greatly from this event as it raises awareness about the critical need for blood donations for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries,” said Fire Chief John Kopper. “Support Cheyenne Fire Rescue by donating and letting them know we sent you! Your contribution can make a life-saving difference.”
