Cheyenne Police Upping DUI Enforcement for St. Patrick’s Day
If you choose to drink and drive this St. Paddy's Day weekend, you may be seeing the boys in blue and handing over your green.
Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says the department's DUI Task Force will be out in full force.
"We're putting out our big command van, our DUI van," said Malatesta. "It helps us process DUIs quicker, gives us some visibility and let's people know that we're doing the task force and hopefully deter them from driving while impaired."
Malatesta urges those who plan on drinking to designate a sober driver and leave their car keys at home.
"We really hope that we don't make a whole lot of arrests this weekend, but at the same time we're aware that people will be out partying," said Malatesta.
If you suspect someone is driving drunk, call 911 or local law enforcement immediately.
