Cheyenne Police Investigate Report Of Shots At Car Window
A spokeswoman for the Cheyenne Police Department says a report of shots being fired in the Rawlins Avenue area of the city on Sunday night has led to an ongoing investigation of a car vandalism case.
There were numerous comments on Cheyenne-area social media pages on Sunday evening about alleged gunshots being fired.
Police Were Contacted About Alleged Gunfire
Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Alex Farkas on Monday confirmed that police were contacted about what was thought at the time to be gunfire. But she says the investigation turned up what are believed to have been shots fired from a BB gun:
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 4900 block of Rawlins last night. The caller reported that a vehicle’s windows had been struck by gunfire; however, further investigation indicates a BB gun was likely used by a group of teens. Officers have contacted several persons of interest. The investigation is ongoing.
