Cheyenne Police are asking anyone with information on the theft of several items from a storage facility earlier this week to come forward.

Spokesman Kevin Malatesta says someone broke into several storage units at Cheyenne Storage at 616 Crook Ave. and stole many tools, a welder, a car stereo and car parts. He says the burglar or burglars cut out the walls between some of the storage unite to get access to neighboring units.

Malatesta says a fence at Cheyenne Storage was down at the time because of construction work been done, adding that may or may not have had something to do with the thefts.

Police think the items were stolen on or around Monday, April 18.

Malatesta says Cheyenne Storage is actually ''a pretty good facility" in terms of security, but says anytime people leave items in storage there is the possibility of them being stolen. He says people may want to avoid leaving leaving really valuable items in long term storage because of the danger of them being stolen.

Police are asking anyone with information the Cheyenne Storage thefts to contact Silent Witness at 638-TIPS, or contact the silent witness hotline online.

Malatesta says tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
