A 20-year-old Cheyenne man could face 40 years to life in prison after allegedly stabbing a man to death and attempting to kill another one.

Vincent Ramirez made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court via video conference this (Friday) afternoon.

Charging documents allege Ramirez fatally stabbed 18-year-old Ian Dangler in the heart during a fight in the 3400 block of Bent Avenue late Wednesday night. He's also accused of stabbing 20-year-old Camilo Olivas multiple times.

Police say Olivas told them that he, Dangler and Octavius Presbury had gone to his cousin's home at 3312 Bent Avenue after learning that Ramirez hit her.

Olivas' cousin, Destany Gonzales, reportedly told police that Ramirez, her ex-boyfriend, "became handsy and aggressive towards her" and refused to leave.

When the men confronted Ramirez outside of Gonzales' apartment and told him to leave, Ramirez reportedly walked north on Bent Avenue and then turned around and yelled at Dangler and Olivas.

The two reportedly walked to Ramirez's location and told him if he wanted to push the issue they would fight him like men. A physical fight broke out and that's when Ramirez reportedly pulled a knife, stabbed the men and took off running.

Olivas reportedly pulled a handgun from his pants and fired at Ramirez as he was running away, but police say no one was hit.

Ramirez was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Ramirez's bond was set at $500,000 cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 21 at 2:30 p.m.
