Cheyenne Man Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Father, Cop
A 32-year-old Cheyenne man is behind bars after police say he assaulted several people, including a police sergeant.
Officer Kevin Malatesta says officers were called to Ronald Dausman's home around 11 a.m. yesterday (Monday) after his son, Matthew Dausman, broke into the residence and threatened him with a knife.
Malatesta says Matthew fled before officers arrived, but a sergeant found him a short distance away.
"Dausman actually charged at the sergeant, causing that sergeant to fall to the ground," said Malatesta. "A struggle ensued on the ground and Dausman was attempting to pull out the sergeant's pistol."
"Fortunately, the sergeant was able to maintain control of his pistol and keep Dausman from pulling it out, but that sergeant did sustain some cuts and bruises," added Malatesta.
Dausman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault for the events at the house and attempting to disarm a peace officer and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
He's scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:15 a.m.
