Cheyenne Man Accused of Strangling Ex-Girlfriend Over Mention of Other Woman
A 43-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his ex-girlfriend.
Police say they were called to a domestic dispute at 11:27 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, and contacted Joshua Casey Osban who stated that his ex-girlfriend of two years would not leave his residence.
According to a booking sheet, Osban's ex had come over around 2 a.m. to discuss their relationship and was sitting on the couch when she mentioned another female's name and Osban jumped up from where he was sitting and grabbed her by the throat with his left hand.
The woman reportedly told police that Osban started applying pressure making it difficult for her to breathe and causing her to panic.
Police say the woman had two small red marks on her neck, consistent with someone grabbing her neck and squeezing it or applying pressure.
Osban was subsequently arrested and charged with strangulation.
He posted a $3,000 surety bond and is scheduled to be back in Laramie County Circuit Court on May 31 at 1:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
