Cheyenne, Laramie Could See Heavy Rain, Flooding This Weekend
Both Cheyenne and Laramie potentially face heavy rain and flooding today [June 10] according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
Both communities have an 80 percent chance of precipitation today with heavy rain possible.
Torrington as well as several areas in the Nebraska Panhandle are also at risk for flooding.
The agency posted the following on it's website:
Heads up for Saturday, heavy rain is possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Latest forecast guidance showing a cold front approaching from the northeast. Depending on where this front finally ends up Saturday, heavy rain is going to develop along this front. Areas highlighted in green on the graphic shows where we've received quite a bit of rain, so soils are susceptible to rapid runoff, should heavy rain develop over these areas. Keep an eye on the forecast Saturday afternoon and evening. Especially in the highlighted green areas as flash flooding could happen in a short period of time. Never drive through flooded roads if you encounter them. Be safe and stay tuned!
