Cheyenne Frontier Days Thunderbirds 2025 Show To Fly On July 26
The United States Air Force Thunderbirds will be taking flight for Cheyenne Frontier Days 2025 on Saturday, July 26.
That's according to a Frontier Days news release.
The Thunderbirds are a long-time CFD tradition, but in the past have performed on Wednesday mornings.
But this year the ''Wings Over Warren Airshow" is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. until noon on the 26th. The Thunderbirds air show, highlighting seemingly gravity-defying aerial maneuvers, will once again be held at F.E. Warren Air Force Base adjacent to Frontier Park.
The elite pilots first performed at Frontier Days in 1953, although there have been a few years over that time when they did not take flight either because of weather conditions or safety concerns.
Why The Change To A Saturday?
In regard to moving this year's show to a Saturday, a CFD news release says ''By moving the show to Saturday, the Thunderbirds are hoping a larger crowd will be able to attend, as well as increase opportunities for the Thunderbirds to interact with CFD customers both on the park and at our downtown events.''
The release goes on to say “The Thunderbirds are a cherished part of the Cheyenne Frontier Days tradition,” said Colonel Jonathan Esses. “We’re thrilled to bring this incredible experience to fans on a Saturday - making it even more accessible to more visitors attending CFD events.”
The show will be drive-in style at F.E. Warren, with public access via Roundtop Road. Valid ID will be required and all cars are subject to security checks. Distinguished Visitors with a valid pass will be able to use Gate 5 on Central Avenue for designated parking.
