Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, Night Show Attendance Down Slightly
Official figures from Cheyenne Frontier Days show attendance at the 2024 CFD rodeo and night shows was down slightly from 2023.
That's according to a Sunday night CFD news release.
According to the release, the 2024 rodeo attendance totaled 115,494 compared to 116,960 in 2023. The 2024 night show attendance dropoff was a little larger, with 119,793 people attending Frontier Nights events this year compared to 134,134 last year.
28,353 gate admission tickets were sold this year, compared to 32,399 in 2023.
Overall attendance including gate admission tickets this year totaled 263,640, compared to 283,349 in 2023. This year's total paid admissions is just shy of the 2022 total of 264,869.
Rodeo and night show figures for CFD 2024 are slightly higher than two years ago, but 2022 gate admission tickets were higher, leading to a somewhat higher total paid attendance two years ago.
CFD General Chair Says 2024 Was ''An Amazing Year"
Despite the slight drop in attendance, CFD officials are still claiming success for the 2024 ''Daddy of ''em all."
“We had an amazing year in 2024,” said John Contos, CFD General Chairman “I’ve been involved here in a lot of different capacities, and it never ceases to amaze me. We couldn’t do it without our volunteers, support from the community and our sponsors. We have a 128-year history of celebrating the West, and we don’t ever want to forget everyone that has been a part of this in the past to make it what it is today. The Year of the Cowgirl gave us extra inspiration this year. We are so grateful to everyone involved and we are ready to start planning for 2025.”
