The Cheyenne Frontier Days General Committee has named two new committee chairs, according to a CFD news release.

New Leaders Announced For Contract Acts, Indians

Mike ''Wilkie" Wilkinson has been named the new Contract Acts Chairman, replacing Scott Lewis in that role. Wilkinson, who is a Risk and Safety Officer for the City of Cheyenne, has been a volunteer for the Contract Acts Commitee for 12 years and a committee lead for three years. Wilkinson was named CFD Volunteer of the year in 2018. He was inducted into the HEELS in 2022, according to the release.

The new Indians Chairman will be Bill Oates, who will replace Mariah Johnson in that role. Oates works for the Wyoming Department of Transportation as a Senior Network Engineer. Oates has been a volunteer for the Indians Committee since 2004 and a committee lead since 2004, He was nominated for Volunteer of the Year for Indians Committee in 2017.

 

The release quotes CFD General Chair John Contos as saying "We are excited to have Mike and Bill join the General Committee, both individuals are very accomplished within their respective committees; and they will help lead CFD into the future." 

He also thanked Scott Lewis and Mariah Johnson, the outgoing chairs, for their service in those roles.
