Cheyenne Frontier Days Elects First Board Chairwoman
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — For the first time in its 121-year-old history, a woman will be leading the Cheyenne Frontier Days board of directors.
Volunteer and current board member Lisa Murphy was elected recently to serve as the board's first female chair.
Rodeo CEO Tom Hirsig and General Chairman Bill Berg say the decision to elect Murphy was more about choosing the best person for the job.
Murphy has long been associated with Frontier Days, working the arena as a child.
She has been a member of the board of directors since 2012.
