Cheyenne Frontier Days has announced a new opening day celebration for CFD 2018.

A news release on Tuesday morning said the event will take place from 10;30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on July 20 at Frontier Park.

For a $25 entry fee, people will be allowed access to the following items:

  • Unlimited carnival rides
  • $2 menu items at designated food concessions in the park
  • Vendor Scavenger Hunt with grand prize package from CFD vendors valued at over $3,000 - Includes 2 VIP passes to all Frontier Nights® concert performances
  • New and exciting musical entertainment on various stages
  • Wagon rides in the CFD arena
  • All new Wild West Show from 2-3 p.m. featuring CFD history and pageantry, cavalry, horse-drawn artillery demo, antique automobiles, carriages, trick riding, trick ropers and ladies ranch bronc riding and more.
  • CFD spokeswoman Nicole Gamst says there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10;30 a.m. for the 122nd  Daddy of 'em all. The first 100 people through the gate will receive a free carnival armband for later in the week
