Carroll was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and battery - threatens to use a drawn deadly weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and domestic battery - first offense, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and/or a $750 fine.

Initial Court Appearance

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Carroll was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.

An Ongoing History of Abuse

The state recommended a $15,000 cash bond, saying, "The facts that are alleged in the probable cause remarks indicate that there is an ongoing history of abuse. This argument happened in the home where Mr. Carroll was threatening with a baseball bat and essentially coercing this victim to call people and sort of downplay the situation to avoid responsibility. I think that given the presence of children and the domestic partner in conjunction with these crimes of violence, $15,000 is appropriate."

Out on Bond

Williams adopted the state's recommendation, setting Carroll's bond at $15,000 cash, and he later posted it.

Carroll is scheduled to be back in court for his preliminary hearing on Friday, Sept. 19, at 9:45 a.m.

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
