Cheyenne police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say stole over $700 worth of oil paints from Hobby Lobby.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says the theft happened around 2:38 p.m. on Aug. 31.

"The suspect was observed taking oil paints and putting them in his pockets," said Malatesta.  "He then left the store without paying for them."

"It is one of the more interesting shopliftings we've had recently just because of the large amount of oil paints taken," he added.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
