A 19-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his girlfriend.

According to a booking sheet, Dylan C. Cales was located at the intersection of Meadow Drive and Silverton Drive shortly after 2:00 last Thursday morning, Sept. 7, after reportedly getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

Cales reportedly told police that he placed his hands on his girlfriend's neck in an attempt to get her off of him.

Police said Cales had scratches on the inside of both of his elbows, on his left shoulder, on his upper left chest, and on his neck, and stated that the scratches were from the fight with his girlfriend.

Cales was subsequently arrested and charged with strangulation and domestic battery.

He's currently being held in the Laramie County Detention Center on a $2,000 cash bond awaiting a Sept. 13 preliminary hearing.
