Converse/Pershing/19th street Roundabout Project

The Converse/Pershing/19th Street Roundabout in Cheyenne has been controversial since it was first proposed.

A spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department says there have been 40 reported car accidents on the Converse/Pershing/19th Street Roundabout so far this year.

Kaysen has said that while the project started out being highly controversial, he thinks most motorists have changed their opinion.

He says the work was slated for 9am until 30m, adding motorists using the roundabout during those hours should expect delays.

He says city plow crews " know how to remove snow, they know how to grate it off to the side".

He also says the city has now assumed responsibility for snow removal on the roundabout.

Mason says some of the workshops will be aimed at senior citizens, since they seem to have generated the most questions to the city about the project.

The cost of the roundabout is $4.5 million with the Fifth Penny Sales Tax funding the street, sidewalk and\storm sewer improvements.
