The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued an air quality alert as well as a Red Flag Fire warning for southeast Wyoming for this weekend.

Both warnings include botth Cheyenne and Laramie

The agency posted the following on its website

Another round of Red Flag Warnings has been issued for all of southeast Wyoming covering 11AM Saturday through 9PM Sunday. Wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph will accompany continued very dry conditions and lead to the rapid spread of wildfire. Don't be the spark!! The Nebraska panhandle can expect elevated to near critical fire weather conditions both Saturday and Sunday, but winds will not be quite as strong as in Wyoming. In addition, there is a slight chance for a few high-based showers each afternoon and evening which will have the potential to produce gusty and erratic winds and a few strikes of lightning without much, if any, rainfall reaching the ground.

Wildfire smoke will result in degraded air quality across southeast Wyoming through the weekend. Those who are sensitive to smoke and have respiratory issues should consider limiting time outdoors.
