Hageman released the following statement on Wednesday afternoon:
"I am proud to join President Trump in supporting Megan Degenfelder as Wyoming’s next Governor. Megan and I have spent many hours together since her decision to run, and we have extensively discussed her vision for Wyoming. She wants for Wyoming what so many of us want -- a safe, prosperous place to raise our families and make our own way in life.
"Megan not only understands, but has passion for our legacy industries. She is the leader we need as we look to the future, without destroying what made Wyoming the special place it is today. Megan is a proven winner with a strong conservative record as Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction. I wholeheartedly endorse her to the be next Governor of Wyoming."

Both Hageman and Degenfelder are Republicans. Hageman has represented Wyoming in Congress since 2023, while Degenfelder has served as Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction for that same time
