The Associated Press has called the Wyoming Republican Gubernatorial Primary for Eric Barlow.

Barlow was running far ahead of his two main rivals for the nomination to serve as the state's top executive Barlow is a Gillette veterinarian and a former speaker of the Wyoming House of Representatives. He is currently serving in the Wyoming Senate.

His two main rivals were State Superintendent Megan Degenfelder and Former Marine Corps Officer Brent Bien, who were battling for second place but were running well behind.

Degenfelder will apparently fall short despite an endorsement from President Trump.

Barlow will face Democrat Ken Casner in November, but will be the heavy favorite in ruby red Wyoming.
