Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen is accepting applications from people interested in serving on the city's Historic Preservation Board.

Applications are available on the city website. More information is also available on the website by clicking "Boards and Commissions G-Z". The deadline to apply is December 12.

The mayor says backgrounds in local history, architecture, landscaping or real estate might be helping for serving on the board, which considers the historical importance of local buildings and whether they should be preserved.

Kaysen says board members should expect to devote up to 10 hours a month to the body.
