UPDATE: Woman Injured After Van Crashes Into Cheyenne Home
UPDATE:
An elderly Cheyenne woman was taken to the hospital Monday after the van she was driving crashed into the side of a house in north Cheyenne.
It happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Powderhouse Road.
Police spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says the woman, who was in her 80s, was leaving the UCHealth Cheyenne Medical Specialists parking lot when "she confused the break pedal for the accelerator."
The van jumped the curb and sped south across Prairie Avenue before hitting the north side of 4918 Powderhouse.
"She had minor injuries just to get checked out from the airbag deployment," said Malatesta. "At this point in time, she has not received a citation."
Malatesta says "nobody was home" at the time of the crash.
