
Up To 7 Inches Of Snow, 55 MPH Winds Possible In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of southeast Wyoming starting on Monday afternoon.
The watch area includes Cheyenne. At last report Laramie was just outside of the watch area, but was still expected to experience some winter weather conditions.
The agency posted the following on its website:
A powerful winter storm will cross the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains Monday into Tuesday, which has the potential to bring significant snow and strong winds to the area. The highest snow totals will likely occur near the I-80 corridor, while the strongest winds will occur in the Nebraska panhandle
The agency is warning of ''very hazardous travel conditions":
The combination of accumulating snow and strong winds will likely result in very hazardous travel conditions across southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska late Monday into Tuesday. Be prepared for rapidly changing conditions, including significantly reduced to near whiteout visibility and serious drifting.
