Temperatures in Wyoming Fell as Low as -26F Monday Night
It was dangerously cold overnight in central Wyoming, according to the National Weather Service.
The lowest recorded temperature was -26 F west of Alcova. Independence Rock and a station near La Barge both hit -24 F.
In Riverton, temperatures fell to -14 F. Shoshoni saw -13 F, while Cokeville saw -24 F and the Afton Airport hit -18F.
The temperatures were shared by the National Weather Service's Riverton office on their Facebook page Tuesday.
Cold temperatures were predicted again for Tuesday night, with -17 F forecast for Big Piney and -11 F for Pinedale.
Riverton and Shoshoni could see -8 F and -6 F respectively Tuesday night.
Casper is predicted to see a low temperature of 16 F. The city, along with areas including Jeffrey City and Wamsutter, saw southwest winds that were expected to gust to 50 mph throughout the day Tuesday.
Those high winds were predicted to continue in Natrona County into Wednesday.
