Taco Bell Run Leads to Felony Meth Charge for Cheyenne Man
A 44-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after police reportedly caught him with methamphetamine.
According to a booking sheet, Joshua Casey Osban was arrested at 7:47 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, after a police officer stopped him in the Taco Bell parking lot at 2500 E. Lincolnway for failing to signal a lane change.
As the officer was writing the warning for the turn signal violation, Officer Killian Sweet and his K-9 partner Dutch arrived, and the dog alerted on Osban's car.
The car was subsequently searched, and a clear plastic baggie containing 37.86 grams of methamphetamine was reportedly found tucked near the parking break in the center console.
Osban was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and later charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor turn signal violation.
His bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 21 at 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, Osban was served in jail with a misdemeanor warrant signed by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee for failing to comply with his bond conditions on three counts of violation of a protection order.
He was seen in court on Wednesday morning, during which his bond was set at $1,000 cash and his next hearing was scheduled to coincide with his Feb. 21 preliminary hearing.
This isn't the first time Osban has been in trouble with the law. Ironically, it was just last month that he was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine after failing to signal his turn.
