The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities will close part of Storey Blvd next month for the Board of Public Utilities [BOPU] North City Improvements Project Phase II.

That's according to a post on the City of Cheyenne Facebook Page.

Where Will The Closure Happen?

That project will connect the new North City tank to the City’s water distribution system. Work will be completed by Garney Construction. As a result of the project, Storey Blvd. will be closed between Powderhouse Rd. and Converse Ave. from November 3, 2025, to November 21.

Motorists are being told to find alternate routes during work on the project. Detours will be available both south to Dell Range Blvd., and/or north to East Four Mile Rd. The release says the BOPU will try as much as possible to reduce the inconvenience to motorists.

According to the post, "The North City Improvement project aims to improve the City’s water distribution system, increasing the level of service to customers in eastern Cheyenne while improving system resiliency. The estimated $14.7 million project is funded through Wyoming Water Development Commission, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, and the American Rescue Plan Act. With the BOPU receiving $9.96 million total in grant funding, the new North City Improvement project comes at no increased cost to ratepayers."

Yellowstone Wildfire of 1988

The fires in 1988 burned 793,800 acres, 39% of Yellowstone's 2.2 million acres. After 30 years most of the parks lodgepole pines destroyed in 1988 have regenerated and are thriving.
