Southeast Wyoming weather will take a cooler and wetter turn on Wednesday, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The weather service says Cheyenne is at risk of severe weather, but Laramie is less so.

The agency posted the following on its website:

There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, roughly east of a Casper to Cheyenne line. Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening, and some of the storms may become severe, with the primary threats being locally heavy rainfall, strong winds in excess of 60 mph, small hail and frequent dangerous lightning.
