7AM 1/19 - After a short break, high winds are expected to return to the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming late tonight into Tuesday morning. A High Wind Watch has been issued.

* WHERE...Southeast Wyoming wind-prone areas including Interstate 80
  near Arlington and the Summit and Interstate 25 near Bordeaux.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be
  hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including
  campers and tractor trailers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high
wind event. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 MPH or gusts of 58
MPH or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Bevy of Semis Fall Victim to Wyoming Wind

Between December 9 and 12 the Wyoming Highway Patrol posted pictures showing the power of Wyoming wind. During the winter months (November through March), winds commonly reach sustained speeds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts often soaring to 50 or 60 mph or more. High wind warnings often cover portions of central Wyoming, with peak gusts sometimes reaching 100 mph or higher.
