The Operation Back to School program has been busy collecting school supplies for low-income students over the last few weeks, according to Cindy Reynders, spokeswoman for Laramie County School District#1

Throughout the summer, they have contacted businesses and agencies who have contributed school supplies and monetary donations. Needs Inc personnel and OBTS volunteers are stuffing backpacks with school supplies today and tomorrow to be given to local students next month.

Members of this year’s volunteer network include Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Laramie County Community College, LCSD1 Community Relations, LCSD1 Instruction and Needs Inc.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Community Room, 800 Southwest Drive, the backpacks will be given to K–12 and college students who have pre-qualified at Needs Inc.
