Mayor: Rain Delaying City Projects

Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says the wet weather the area has experienced recently is causing construction delays on several city projects.

The mayor says some of the projects that are being slowed include two of the major city street projects, the 19th Street project and the Logan Avenue project.

Work is also being delayed on a major renovation and expansion project at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.

But the mayor says even with those delays in mind, he still thinks the precipitation the area is receiving is a good thing. He says he's been told local water tables are in their best shape since 2009, and he says of the wet weather overall "we' ll take it".
