The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is working to address traffic and detour issues related to the ongoing construction work on Dell Range Boulevard/ U.S. Highway 30.

That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.

According to the post, deputies and command staff members have met with residents of the area to discuss speeding motorists and commercial vehicles using Green Mountain and Liberty as a detour. The post says the sheriff's office understands that increasing patrols and writing more tickets may not be enough to fix the problem.

Post Says Weekly Meetings Are Being Held On The Issue

The post says ''In collaboration with the City of Cheyenne and WYDOT, we are attending weekly meetings with the construction companies to address the concerns. As a result of these meetings, we have been able to collaborate with all involved to restrict truck traffic in residential areas by installing "NO TRUCK TRAFFIC" signs on Green Meadow/Liberty.''

The post also says that with the closure of Whitney Road and Dell Range, deputies will be keeping a close eye on the detour route on Foxglove Drive.

But on the plus side, the post says the construction work on Dell Range/US 30 is moving ahead of schedule.
