COLORAD SPRINGS, Colo., – University of Wyoming setter Kasia Partyka has been selected to represent the Mountain West in the MW Global Challenge Tour this summer, held July 12-23 in Croatia. Partyka will join 11 other student-athletes from Mountain West schools to represent the league at the challenge.

During this event, the select team will take part in daily practices and matches with club and national teams, as well as taking in sightseeing opportunities in Maribor, Slovenia, July 13-17.

From there, the team will travel to Pula, Croatia for five nights, beginning with the Global Challenge Opening Ceremonies July 17. Competition will run July 18-21 in Pula before the team will travel to Venice, Italy for a day of sightseeing before traveling back to the United States.

Partyka was a fixture in the UW lineup in 2022, as she was one of just two Cowgirls to play in all 120 sets last season. Partyka was second in the league in 2022 averaging nearly 9.9 assists per set and led the MW in total assists with 1,184. That number finished just outside the top-10 in program history for a single season.

Partyka was third on the team with 60 total blocks last season and was second on the squad with 25 aces and 245 (2.04 per set) digs. She recorded 11 double-doubles in her first season with the Brown & Gold and had six matches with 50-plus assists and 14 with 40-or-more.

Partyka and the rest of the Cowgirls will host an Outreach Event August 19 in Cody with an exhibition contest against Montana State.

Wyoming officially kicks off the season Aug. 25 with the Rumble in the Rockies Tournament in Laramie, where it will host Winthrop at noon on the 25th, Green Bay at 7 p.m., the 25th and will finish the opening tournament at 6 p.m., Aug. 26 against South Dakota State.
