Everybody loves a good birthday party. While we may not be throwing a big bash, we do want to recognize a very important and relevant document to the state of Wyoming.  It was on this date, in the year 1889, that a document dear to the people of Wyoming was born. It's called the Wyoming Constitution.

On September 30, 1889 the Constitutional Convention adopted the Wyoming Constitution. The same constitution, with its amendments, remains in effect today.

This is unusual for many state constitutions as there has been a tendency for states to change theirs. And fairly frequent at that.

So a very happy birthday anniversary to the Wyoming State Constitution, that has been in effect for 126 years! If you would like to pick up a copy of the Wyoming State Constitution, you may do so at the Secretary of State's office, located at the Wyoming State Capitol.
