September 17, 2015 was Constitution Day. Many people are self-proclaimed experts on the document, but what were some of the facts that surround it?  The Constitution is the most important document known to man kind. There was nothing like it prior to it's creation and many other countries have patterned theirs after ours.

Here are 5 facts about the U.S. Constitution that we value so much.

  1. Thomas Jefferson Not A Signer - Thomas Jefferson was not a signer of the Constitution as he was in France during the Convention, were he served in the office of U.S. minister.
  2. Who Penned It? - Pennsylvania General Assembly clerk Jacob Shallus, penned the U.S. Constitution for $30. That's about $789 today.
  3. Where Is It? - As of 1952, the U.S. Constitution has been on display at the National Archives Building in Washington D.C. in a frame that is tempered at 67 degrees.
  4. Ben Franklin - With tears streaming down his face, Benjamin Franklin signed the document with some help, because of his failing health. He was also the oldest member to sign the document at the ripe old age of 81.
  5. What Presidents Signed? - President George Washington and James Madison were the only Presidents who signed the Constitution.
