Double-Digit Sub Zero Temperatures Expected To Blast SE Wyoming
While the main weather concern for the next couple of days in southeast Wyoming will be strong winds, bitterly cold temperatures in the -16 degree range and even colder wind chills are expected in southeast Wyoming towards mid-week.
That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. . The agency posted this statement on it's website:
Here's a quick snapshot of the upcoming week for the Cheyenne area! The main point of the forecast is that this week is going to be COLD! The Cheyenne area can expect below average temperatures throughout the week. Temperatures get even colder by mid-week as an arctic front pushes through much of the area. There is still uncertainty with this front regarding positioning and how far west and south it will push. This will determine exactly how cold it gets. At this time, cannot rule out even colder temperatures on Thursday! Either way, bitterly cold wind chills will also be expected during this time. Luckily, this arctic outbreak does not look to last long with highs returning to the 30s by Christmas Eve. This front may also bring some light snow accumulations to Cheyenne Wednesday into Wednesday night. Again, once models show more consistency and more agreement with each other regarding this system, we'll have better confidence in any snow accumulations. And because this is Wyoming, breezy to windy can be expected throughout the week. As always, be sure to check back frequently for updates to the forecast!
