Domestic Disturbance Turns Deadly in Cheyenne
The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Friday morning domestic disturbance that left one man dead and a woman hospitalized.
Deputies were called to the 5000 block of S. Greeley Highway around 10 a.m. to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound in a pasture on the east side of the highway.
Lt. Kevin James says the woman was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies also found a man lying dead in the pasture about 100 yards away.
James says a man was taken into custody on unrelated charges, but it's unclear if he's connected with the incident.
The incident forced Laramie County School District 1 to place Arp, Rossman, and Afflerbach elementary schools as well as Triumph High School on "secure perimeter" for 20 minutes.
