Cheyenne Woman With 6 Prior Drug Convictions Busted Again
A 53-year-old Cheyenne woman is once again facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop in east Cheyenne.
According to a booking sheet, it all started around 11:18 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, after police stopped 51-year-old Cheyenne resident Travis Dale Stokes, who they knew to have two misdemeanor warrants out of Laramie County, at the intersection of East Pershing Boulevard and Henderson Drive.
Police say the first warrant was for failure to comply and was signed by Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on June 3, 2024, and the second was for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance in pill form and was signed by Williams on June 14, 2024.

Police say after arresting Stokes, they contacted his passenger, Lisa Rae Bevel, and informed her that she was free to leave and of Stokes' status.
Police say when they asked for permission to search the car, Bevel said she was unsure if she would allow them to do so, and when they asked her if she had any narcotics in the car, she said she had some marijuana in her purse.
Searches Lead to Marijuana, Meth
Bevel was subsequently removed from the car and searched, and police reportedly found suspected marijuana in a cigarette container. She was then handcuffed.
Police then began searching the car and reportedly found 3.84 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Bevel's purse, which they say she had on her lap throughout the traffic stop.
Criminal History
Police say a check of Bevel's criminal history showed a felony drug conviction in January 2003 and five misdemeanor possession convictions dating from August 2014 to March 2024.

She was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Bond Set at $5K Cash
Bevel made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday, Feb. 3, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash, and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.
