Cheyenne Roommates Facing Felony Drug Charges
Two Cheyenne roommates are facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop in west Cheyenne.
Traffic Stop
According to booking sheets, on Friday, Jan. 17 at 2:05 a.m., police paced an SUV traveling northbound at 75 mph in a 65-mph zone on Interstate 25 at the West College Drive exit.
Police say the SUV crossed over the white fog line multiple times on I-25 near Missile Drive and failed to come to a complete stop at the flashing red light at Randall Avenue and West Pershing Boulevard.

Police conducted a traffic stop at West Pershing Boulevard and Synder Avenue, and contacted the driver, 49-year-old Benjamin Aaron Boles, and his front-seat passenger, 33-year-old Mikeal Burl Barge.
K-9 Sniff Leads to Drugs, Arrests
Police say while they were getting Boles' driver's license and proof of insurance, Officer Sweet and his K-9 partner, Dutch, arrived, and the dog alerted on the SUV.
When officers searched the SUV, they reportedly found two water bottles with removable screw bottoms in the back seat.
Police say one of the bottles had a plastic bag containing 105.4 grams of suspected fentanyl pills and a plastic bag containing 0.95 grams of suspected cocaine in it, and the other bottle contained nine suspected fentanyl pills.
Police say they also found a rubber container with 0.28 grams of suspected heroin in it and a small plastic bag containing 2.01 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Boles and Barge were arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where they were booked without incident.
Search Warrant
Later that morning, at about 9 a.m., detectives with the Cheyenne Police Department Community Action Team, the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration served a search warrant at Boles' and Barge's residence in the 1800 block of Newton Drive.
While serving the search warrant, detectives spoke to Boles' mother, who reportedly told them that her son and Barge were living in the basement of her residence and that her son worked from home on his computer as a customer service technician.
While searching the basement, detectives reportedly found a small personal safe on Boles' desk.
When they searched it, they reportedly found a small plastic bag containing 17.34 grams of suspected methamphetamine and small containers with methamphetamine residue.
Numerous small plastic bags, several small glass vials containing methamphetamine, and a small digital scale were also reportedly found in Boles' desk drawer.
Boles and Barge Charged With 3 Felonies, 2 Misdemeanors
Boles and Barge were both charged with three felonies, including possession of a controlled substance and two counts of manufacture or delivery, as well as two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
$25K Cash Bonds
They appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court on the charges Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, during which their bonds were set at $25,000 cash and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m.
Boles' Misdemeanors Upgraded to Felonies
On Thursday, Jan. 23, the two misdemeanor drug possession charges against Boles were upgraded to felonies.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
